Greater Love Had No Man

   Greater love had no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 We say we love many different things in this life, but what is Love. The bible says that God is love. He demonstrated love in an awesome and mighty way...God died. He gave His life for us on a cross that we may truly see Himself. We could have NEVER EVER seen Love without the cross. Now through this revelation of the love on a cross, we have the opportunity to be partakers of this Love. Jesus said that I go away that he could come and live IN us. A true child of God has God, who is Love, living inside of us. This is how John can say that if we say we love God and hate our brother than we are liars. The scriptures also say that it is by this Love that the world would know that we are the children of God. There are so...so...many scriptures, manly written by John, that teach us of this, but there is only one that I would like for you to remember today. 1John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. If we have the love of our Father then our lives will demonstrate the same example He gave us. We would also lay down our lives for our brothers. We have a cross my friends, and we CAN NOT BE a disciple if we fail to carry our cross. Getting up early Sunday morning for some church service is not a cross my friends. It is giving all you have and laying it ALL down and dying on that cross for your brothers. Not a physical death, though that may one day be required, but your life for theirs.
